Deep Dropping for Giant Bluefin Tuna - Tuna Paradise
Join us today on a deep dropping session of two days fishing in some banks where we know the tuna congregate on a big drop. With the correct rig and a bang-on drift its an almost certain strike!

Today in Tenerife with Gofio Tuna Fishing we hosted a great team all the way from Colombia, and biy did they get some big fish action! BEST VIEWED IN 4K After some days on plenty missed strikes on top water, we wanted to try and stop one of those giants with a Penn Authority 10500, which has 60lbs of drag and Howk prototype rod designed for giants. The rod doesnt show any concerns, its the line capacity and the amount of drag where the limits are.... Hopefully soon, someone will build a spinning reel with much better capabilit...

Best viewed in 4K. A day out with mates, no guiding... We did a bit of everything. We had set ourselves the mission of landing a big YFT or Big, Big Eye and i guess we got lucky! The top-water action at this day was very very slow, so we insisted with livebait to try and snatcg one or two of our main objectives. Watch Paul get absolutely raped with the heavy jigging setup when a monster bluefin...

The back harness on the blackmagic is wrongly positioned,the lower half has be under your bum,so you have a triangular set up which gives you maximum lifting power with your legs.Not your back.

@@Hef20000 50 or 80 class rod with Stella / multiplier with a live bait. If your not repeatedly casting a lure you dont need a light combo.
Multiplier is a completly different school. Old-school. The Stella was not up to it. Read James' comment! His Stella got spooled too! The difference is that the Stella broke, the Penn is fine....
@@Hef20000 I'm not sure you can say a multiplier is old school- If you can't get enough drag to stop the fish and the reel isn't holding enough line - then a multiplier is the right tool for the job. Leaving a fish with a hook in its mouth and 400m of 130lb line trailing is just irresponsible. Maybe drop down to 80lb braid and get another 200m of line on the spool if you are only putting 30lb of drag on the fish. We are trying to create a sustainable recreational fishery in all European waters against a backdrop of over fishing. I'm a fixed reel angler through and through- I dislike multipliers....but you can't keep leaving fish with hooks in their mouth and trailing miles of line.

Well, funnily enough the Penn is still working. My Stella only lasted one run from one fish…. So Penn are not too bad at all, after all
